Country Salutes "Outlaw" Kings

During part of Music City's annual Chet Atkins Musician Days festivities, three of Nashville's most praised musician/singers were honored in receiving the "Chettie" award. This year's honorees included Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Owen Bradley. Both Cash and Jennings have long been recognized for paving the way of the music world's outlaw movement, and Bradley praised for helping to actually create the Nashville sound. The three entertainment icons, along with Chet Atkins, Marty Stuart and Mark Knopfler all shared the spotlight at one momnet or another during the recent Witness History II concert, held at Nashville's famous Ryman Auditorium. Other highlights of the evening included Stuart's performance of his hit "Tempted" and Atkins' emotional presentation of one of his famous guitars to longtime friend and guitar peer Knopfler.
