Songwriter Cheryl Wheeler Takes A Stand On Gun Violence

Singer/songwriter Cheryl Wheeler penned the song "If It Were Up To Me" in response to this past year's rash of high school murders committed by teens and pre-teens. The song involves a rapid-fire commentary of possible excuses as to why children are killing other children. Wheeler ends the song with "If it were up to me, I'd take away the guns." The song will be featured on Wheeler's January 26th release of Sylvia Hotel on Rounder Records. The record company will donate $5.00 to the Center to Prevent Handgun Violence every time the song is played on AAA radio stations for the first month after the radio station add date.
