Garth Brooks offered part of his liver to Chris LeDoux before the cowboy singer and ex-professional bronco rider received his transplant last fall, LeDoux recently revealed to USA Today. After LeDoux was diagnosed with primary sclerosing cholangitis in September, Brooks began compatibility testing in Tulsa, then went to Nebraska Health System in Omaha where LeDoux had been receiving treatment. Doctors ruled Brooks out as a donor because his liver was too small. LeDoux found a suitable donor days later and received his transplant Oct. 7. He feels well enough now to return to the road June 10 in San Jose, Calif. Brooks asked LeDoux to keep his offer secret, but LeDoux refused. Brooks name-checked LeDoux in his first single, "Much Too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)," and later sang on LeDoux's hit "Whatcha Gonna Do With a Cowboy."
