Bering Strait Crosses to MCA

MCA Nashville has signed Bering Strait, a seven-member group whose members hail from Obninsk, in Russia. They began writing country and bluegrass-influenced songs while studying at the State College of Music and Stage Arts, located 60 miles south of Moscow. Tim DuBois heard about the group when he was head of Arista Records. He and co-manager Mike Kinnamon brought them to MCA’s attention. MCA chairman Bruce Hinton says Bering Strait exhibits “a level of musicianship and performance that simply boggles the mind.” Brent Maher (The Judds, Shelby Lynne) will produce.
