This time, unfortunately, it’s not the radio kinda hit. During his second week of spring training with baseball’s San Diego Padres, Garth Brooks was hit in the side with a bulleting ball while he was fielding grounders. A local paper quoted a player saying “It could have killed him if it had hit him in the head.” Brooks, however, was checked out by a doctor and wasn’t seriously injured. He continued to practice and even signed fans’ autographs afterwards for almost 90 minutes. Brooks isn’t being paid for his professional baseball efforts, but instead giving the money to a select children’s charity.
