George Jones Promotes Sausage Products

George Jones went to the grocery store Wednesday (July 23), but he wasn’t buying anything. The Country Music Hall of Fame member visited two Nashville-area Kroger stores — in Franklin and Smyrna — to promote his new line of food products. The singer recently partnered with Williams Sausage Co. to introduce George Jones country sausage and biscuits, along with mild and hot versions of the sausage. Packaging for the sausage and biscuits will include Fables and Truths, a collection of half truths about Jones’ colorful life. Telling CMT News that his wife, Nancy, is the cook in the family, Jones explains, “She cooks the sausage and she lets me have a piece ever now and then — if I’m lucky.” Jones is also introducing a line of marinades and food sauces. 07/23/2003
