Radney Foster, whose hits include “Just Call Me Lonesome” and “Nobody Wins,” and his wife, music journalist Cyndi Hoelzle, have launched PureSpunk.com, a Web site devoted to roots music. “Our goal was to create a place where people could learn about great music, have some fun, and yes, have an opportunity to buy things,” they explain on the site. “We don’t pretend to be impartial. We write about what we like. Some of the people we feature are our friends. Some of them are just folks who make great art.” PureSpunk also is the name of the couple’s new label, which will release Foster’s next album, Are You Ready for the Big Show?, in May. Foster released three studio albums as half of Foster & Lloyd and three as a solo artist. His last, See What You Want to See, was released in May 1999.
