Skaggs' Son Improving

Ricky Skaggs canceled two concerts last weekend after his 21-year-old son, Andrew, slipped into a coma and was admitted to a Lexington, Ky.-area hospital. Andrew Skaggs was diagnosed with pneumonia and is in serious but stable condition in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit. He is expected to make a full recovery, says a spokeswoman for Skaggs. The canceled shows in Lafayette, Ind., and Fish Creek, Wis., will be rescheduled. Skaggs is slated to play the Grand Ole Opry this weekend. On Saturday (Feb. 10) at 8 p.m. ET, he will host a special segment based on his Grammy-nominated album, Big Mon: The Songs of Bill Monroe. Steve Wariner, The Whites, Patty Loveless, Mary Chapin Carpenter and Travis Tritt will join Skaggs in paying tribute to the late father of bluegrass.
