Brooks to Play CRS

Garth Brooks, who has all but retired from performing, will make a special appearance at Country Radio Seminar, to be held Feb. 28-March 3 at the Nashville Convention Center. Brooks will perform March 2 at a luncheon sponsored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the performing rights organization he belongs to. Country Radio Broadcasters, the organization behind the convention, also announced that Billy Gilman will sing the national anthem at the opening ceremony on March 1. The same day, Trisha Yearwood and Gary Allan are slated to perform at a luncheon sponsored by their label, MCA Records, and Clint Black will present the 2001 Humanitarian Award. Harley Allen, Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Keith Urban also have been added to the week's talent roster. CRB previously announced that Travis Tritt will headline the Academy of Country Music-sponsored Superfaces show on Feb. 28. Newcomers Chris Cagle, Phil Vassar, Sara Evans, the Clark Family Experience and Trick Pony will appear at the New Faces Show on March 3.
