Opry Has New Ticket Prices, Free Plaza Parties

The Grand Ole Opry has announced new ticket prices for the 2001 season. Seats on the main floor and in the mezzanine level will now go for $25, an increase from $22.50. Upper balcony seats, originally $20.50, now will cost $23. Special children's ticket prices ($15, $13) also have been established for kids 4-11 years old. Tickets for the summer Tuesday matinees will stay at $20 and $18, with children's tickets at $12 and $10. Also on tap for this summer, the free Opry Plaza parties will return on Friday nights from June 8 - Aug. 11. Last summer, Asleep at the Wheel, Junior Brown, The Derailers, BR5-49 and the Old Crow Medicine Show were among acts to play the special series. The OpryFest Bluegrass Jamboree also is scheduled for July 21-22.
