Lee Ann Womack, who was named Top New Female Vocalist by the Academy of Country Music recently, is compiling a pretty impressive fan base. Country America magazine reports that Loretta Lynn, impressed by Womack’s hits “Never Again, Again,” “The Fool” and “You’ve Got To Talk To Me” wants to write a song for the native Texan to sing. Alan Jackson bought a copy of her debut album for each of the 25 CD players in his home, buses, automobiles and boats. And when a thief broke into George Strait’s pickup, several Strait-related items were left behind, but Strait’s copy of Womack’s CD was snatched. “It makes my head spin,” Womack says of all the attention.
