While departing from the Los Angeles International Airport on Sunday morning, singer Randy Travis and his wife Lib Hatcher’s limousine driver died after suffering an apparent heart attack. When Travis realized that the car was out of control and moving into another lane, he quickly climbed over the front car seat to turn off the ignition, according to Travis’ publicist. The Travis’ had actually been talking to the driver when his head began to drop toward the wheel, thinking he was perhaps looking at something such as a map. Both Randy and Lib were fortunately able to hail a doctor from a passing shuttle bus. Despite his efforts and eventually that of a team of paramedics, however, the driver could not be revived. Having never experienced such a fatal tragedy before, publicist Maureen O’Connor explained that the Travis’ were extremely upset by the incident.
