Hall of Fame to Salute Elvis, Hank

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum will honor Elvis Presley and Hank Williams in the coming weeks. During Aug. 9-17, the 26th anniversary of Presley’s death will be commemorated during film screenings, a tour of RCA’s historic Studio B and a book signing by Alanna Nash, author of The Colonel: The Extraordinary Story of Colonel Tom Parker and Elvis Presley. A spotlight exhibit on Hank Williams will open Sept. 17, to mark the 80th anniversary of his birth. It will include the wedding dress Billie Jean Eshliman wore when she married Williams in a 1952 public ceremony in New Orleans, audio clips from his WSM-AM radio shows sponsored by Mother’s Best Flour Company and screenings of Williams’ appearances on the Kate Smith Evening Hour television program in 1952. 08/04/03
