Chicks Want a Recount

Reacting to the news that the McGraw-Hill Soul 2 Soul Tour topped the ’Fly’ Tour in gross revenue, the Dixie Chicks issued a tongue-in-cheek press release demanding a recount of ticket stubs. “Contrary to what has recently been reported, the Dixie Chicks have not conceded,” the band said. They went on to suggest that a Ryder truck full of ticket stubs is on its way to Carthage, Tenn., home of Vice President Al Gore. “We’ve got calls in to Vice President Gore and attorney David Boise to enlist their help in this matter,” joked Chicks manager Simon Renshaw. “We’d like to offer them the chance to get into the one field more political than politics — the concert business.”
