Hill, Chicks, Keith Top Billboard Year-End Lists

Faith Hill made several year-end lists compiled by Billboard magazine. She was named Top Country Female Artist, and her crossover hit "Breathe" landed at the top of the 2000 Billboard Hot 100 chart. Ironically, the power ballad never made it to No. 1 on the chart, instead spending three weeks at No. 2, but sustained airplay helped it earn top honors in the year-end tally. Hill's name also turned up at No. 9 in the Top 40 and No. 4 in the Adult Contemporary categories. Lonestar crossed over with "Amazed," which is at No. 10 on the Top 100 and No. 2 on the Adult Contemporary chart. The Dixie Chicks landed two titles on the Top Country Albums chart. Their sophomore effort, Fly, topped the year-end list and Wide Open Spaces came in at No. 6, earning the band Top Country Group honors. Tim McGraw was named Top Country Male Artist for the year, and Toby Keith topped the country singles category with his rousing "How Do You Like Me Now?!" Arista newcomer Phil Vassar, who charted the No. 1 song "Just Another Day in Paradise," was named Top New Country Artist.
