At the age of 81, the CMA’s first-ever Entertainer of the Year, Eddy Arnold, will retire from live performances. Arnold’s last show is slated for Sunday, May 16th, at The New Orleans Hotel in Las Vegas. “I’ve been thinking about when and how I would do this for the past few years,” he reported to a Nashville paper. “I finally decided I’m just going to do it. I cried, I sure did.” Although Arnold plans to stop performing live, he doesn’t plan to stop recording. The Country Music Hall of Fame member hopes to release a new album in the fall.
