Shania Wins Big at SOCAN Awards

Shania Twain and her songwriting partner-husband Robert "Mutt" Lange nearly swept the country category of the 11th annual SOCAN Awards, handed out Monday night (Nov. 20). The Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN) honored songs that received the most radio airplay in Canada for the past year. Twain and Lange received nods as writers and publishers of hits "From this Moment On," "Man! I Feel Like a Woman," "That Don't Impress Me Much," "You're Still the One" and "You've Got a Way." Also recognized were The Wilkinsons' Amanda and Steve Wilkinson for "Boy Oh Boy," Paul Brandt for "That's the Truth," Fred Hale and John Landry for "There You Were," and Carolyn Dawn Johnson and Shaye Smith for "Single White Female."
