Congratulations to Matthew Nelson for winning the final competition of the fifth annual Mark Collie Celebrity Race. Matthew Nelson is the son of late music/TV star Ricky Nelson and one-half of popular '80s rock duo Nelson. Mark Collie, who was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 17, organized the race to raise research money and public awareness of the disease. Preliminary tallies for this year's fundraiser are over $400,000. The race featured 69 celebrity drivers and was held at the Nashville Speedway. It marked Matthew Nelson's first win in this competition, but he and his brother, Gunner, have been regular participants over the years.
