President Reba Wins CMT Voting

Fans voted Reba McEntire the first female U.S. president Tuesday (Nov. 7) in the CMT/ “Vote for Your Country” poll. As citizens around the country chose a new president, a new Congress and many state and local officials, country fans likewise voted here. The question posed was, “Which country artist would make the best U.S. president?” voters chose between Cledus T. Judd, Garth Brooks, McEntire and Tim McGraw. The voting was heavy and the contest heated, but McEntire pulled through with a slim margin over Brooks, 43.1% to 41.5%. Judd was a distant third with 12% of the vote, and McGraw carried a mere 3.4%.
