Take A Bow, Country Legends!

Catch the talent, excitement and memories on both CD and on TNN Monday, October 5th, as Tribute To Tradition comes alive. Sony Music's Tribute To Tradition was born when Sony Nashville executives Allen Butler, Paul Worley and Mike Kraski stopped to ponder their industry and where it's headed. "This record was a reaction to the way things are," explains Kraski, Senior Vice President, Sales/Marketing, Sony Music Nashville. "We had all these country singers paying homage to everything except country music. The question I posed was, 'If you were to pay homage to one song in country music history, what would it be?'" The answers to the question resulted in such brilliant works as Collin Raye crooning Hank Williams' "Cold Cold Heart" from 1951; Randy Travis singing Merle Haggard's late 60's "Mama Tried;" the Dixie Chicks wailing out Tammy Wynette's "Stand By Your Man" from 1968; Alison Krauss' version of The Browns' 1959 hit, "The Three Bells;" and Trace Adkins churning out Lefty Frizell's 1974 classic, "I Never Go Around Mirrors. The release, which also coincides with TNN's October 5th telecast of Front Row Center: Tribute To Tradition, a similar star-studded Nashville performance hosted by Collin Raye, promises to be as equally thrilling as the disc.
