A life-size bronze statue of Chet Atkins will be unveiled in downtown Nashville on January 12. Music stars, community leaders, close friends and family of Atkins will be on hand for the unveiling ceremony. Mr. Guitar, himself, is expected to be there, as well as fellow Country Music Hall of Famer Eddy Arnold, Bobby Bare and Charley Pride. Vince Gill has been tapped to be the master of ceremonies. The reception will be hosted in the Bank of America Atrium, 414 Union Street. The statue will be unveiled just outside the building, weather permitting, already ensconced in its permanent home at the corner of 5th Avenue North and Union Streets.
