Ricky Skaggs Performs for the First Family, Reveals Monroe Tribute

Bluegrass ace Ricky Skaggs performed for a gathering that included President and Mrs. Clinton and their daughter Dec. 31, as part of the Smithsonian Institution’s America’s Millennium series. He was also interviewed about bluegrass by Bill Ivey, former head of the Country Music Foundation and now chairman of the National Endowment For The Arts. During the interview, Skaggs revealed that he is producing a tribute album to his mentor, Bill Monroe. It will feature performances by several artists and be released this summer.
