Brooks Will Reveal His Plans

Garth Brooks will discuss his future plans in a press conference at 10 a.m. Thursday (Oct. 26) at the Gaylord Entertainment Center in Nashville. During a TV appearance on Dec. 15, 1999, Brooks said he would “lay low” for nine or 10 months, throw a big party and then “probably” announce his retirement, to devote more time to his children. When he appeared Oct. 14 at the Grand Ole Opry, he promised an announcement within “two to six weeks.” Brooks will host the party, to celebrate sales of 100 million records, Thursday night at the Gaylord Entertainment Center. will have full coverage of the press conference and the party.
