Billy Ray Cyrus will play a benefit for Nashville’s Second Harvest Food Bank on Oct. 25, but he’s doing much more for the cause than just lending his voice. Cyrus has urged Music Row offices to become canned food collection points for their employees. The singer himself has pledged to come by with his tour bus to pick up any donated food before the concert. The show, at Nashville’s 328 Performance Hall, will feature Cyrus, Shane Minor and Beth Hart backed by respected session musicians Paul Franklin, Dann Huff, Biff Watson, Paul Leim, Leland Sklar, Tim Akers, Blair Masters and Gordon Kennedy. Cyrus is currently in New York on a media tour. This morning he appears with Mark McEwen on the CBS Early Show before guesting on Fox News Live and Oxygen cable network’s Pure Oxygen. He wraps up his Big Apple visit with a performance on The Queen Latifah Show.
