Axton Documentary in the Works

A documentary film is in the works about Mae Axton, the late songwriter who penned Elvis Presley’s hit “Heartbreak Hotel” as well as tunes recorded by Patsy Cline, Hank Snow, Conway Twitty and others. The mother of country singer Hoyt Axton, she was a fixture in Nashville’s music community as a TV and radio personality, public relations person, journalist and friend to the stars. Centaur Productions is making The Legacy of Mae Axton, which will include interviews with Garth Brooks, Dolly Parton, Tanya Tucker and Larry Gatlin.
