Yankee Grey Loses Lead Singer

Tim Hunt, lead singer for Yankee Grey, has left the group due to voice problems. The Cincinnati-born band signed with Monument Records in 1997 and released its debut album, Untamed, last year. The group’s first single, “All Things Considered,” went to No. 8 on the Billboard country singles chart and helped land an ACM nomination for best new group or duo. A spokeswoman for the band said Hunt’s vocal complications are non-life-threatening but would not elaborate. The remaining members of Yankee Grey are mulling over possible replacements recommended by their producers, Robert Ellis Orrall and Josh Leo, and label executive Blake Chancey.
