Womack Sings for Nobel Winners

Five-time CMA nominee Lee Ann Womack has been invited to sing her country hit “I Hope You Dance” at the Nobel Peace Prize concert Dec. 11 in Oslo, Norway . The show, which honors winners of the coveted accolade, also will include performances by rockers Bryan Adams and Don Henley. “It’s kind of hard to imagine the people who work on something this important even listening to my song,” Womack said in a release. “The fact that they hear in [“I Hope You Dance”] what I did makes me feel really proud.” This week Womack taped the long-running TV show Austin City Limits. Asleep at the Wheel’s Ray Benson joined her for “Miles and Miles of Texas,” and Womack sang several songs from her CMA-nominated album, I Hope You Dance. Airtime and date for the show have not been scheduled.
