Singer/songwriter Janis Gill, half of Sweethearts of the Rodeo and the ex-Mrs. Vince Gill, will remarry next month in Hawaii, manager Monty Hitchcock confirms. “I’ve known Janis a long time, and she’s very, very happy,” he says. Gill and her fiance — whom Hitchcock would not name — plan a small island wedding followed by a reception in Nashville. Janis and Vince divorced in 1997. They have a 17-year-old daughter, Jenny. On the musical front, Janis and her sister, Kristine Arnold, have been working for the last two months on what will be the Sweethearts’ first album of original material since 1996. The new work recalls their early, harmony-based acoustic sound, Hitchcock says. Although the duo has not signed with a record label, they hope to have the album in stores in the second quarter of 2001.
