Paul Williams to Speak at Alcohol & Drug Council Dinner

Songwriter and actor Paul Williams will speak at the annual dinner of the Alcohol & Drug Council of Middle Tennessee April 28 at Nashville’s Renaissance Hotel. Now in recovery for 10 years, Williams will talk about how his early successes were affected by his addictions. Williams’ hit songs include such pop standards as “We’ve Only Just Begun,” “Evergreen,” “Rainy Days and Mondays” and “Rainbow Connection.” He has recently turned his talents to country music and is co-writer of the Diamond Rio ballad, “You’re Gone.” As an actor, Williams appeared in The Muppet Movie, Battle for the Planet of the Apes and three Smokey and the Bandit movies. Tickets to the event can be purchased through the Alcohol & Drug Council at (615) 269-0029.
