Garth Brooks Lowers Batting Average, Raises Charity

Garth Brooks hasn’t improved his .045 batting average. Over the weekend, he wrapped up spring training with the New York Mets, going 0-for-11 overall. He hit 1-for-22 with the San Diego Padres last spring. Brooks will hold a press conference on April 3 at New York’s Shea Stadium — just before the Mets take on the Padres in their home opener — to detail his spring training adventures with the Mets and his Touch ’Em All Foundation, which benefits children’s charities. Last year, 67 Major League Baseball players contributed to Garth’s charity. This season, it is expected that over 100 Major Leaguers will participate in the Touch ’Em All Foundation.
