Blue Highway Regroups for Next Album

Tom Adams, banjo player for bluegrass group Blue Highway, has left the band. Adams, a former member of the Johnson Mountain Boys and the Lynn Morris Band, is playing with Rhonda Vincent’s band, The Rage. Blue Highway’s original banjo player, Jason Burleson, has rejoined the band. Blue Highway also recently parted ways with their label, Ceili Music, a subsidiary of Skaggs Family Records. The band recorded one self-titled album for Ceili, with Ricky Skaggs producing. The decision to terminate their contract was a mutual agreement between Blue Highway and Skaggs. “We certainly appreciated and enjoyed Ricky’s involvement [in our careers],” said guitarist Tim Stafford. They have tentatively lined up Dobro specialist Jerry Douglas to produce their upcoming album of original songs, but are still looking for a new record deal.
