Mark Miller Plans Charity Game

Sawyer Brown frontman Mark Miller is organizing a benefit basketball game and silent auction to raise money for Nashville’s Christ Presbyterian Academy. Several retired professional athletes are scheduled to play, including the Philadelphia Phillies’ John Kruk, Atlanta Braves’ Paul Assenmacher, the Chicago Bulls’ Kyle Macy and the Phoenix Suns’ Jim Farmer. Miller, a former point guard at the University of Central Florida, played with the Continental Basketball Association’s Ft. Wayne Fury during the 1997-98 season, while still fronting Sawyer Brown. The event is set for 7:30 p.m. Oct. 9 at the Nashville school.
