Hank Thompson Signs With HighTone

Country legend Hank Thompson (“The Wild Side of Life”) is set to release an album on HighTone Records in July. It will be his first for the Oakland-based roots music label, the home of Buddy Miller, Dave Alvin, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot and others. The Country Music Hall of Famer will begin recording the new album at Crystal Clear Recording in Dallas on March 28 with renowned steel guitarist Lloyd Maines (father of Dixie Chick Natalie Maines) producing. The band lined up for the sessions features members of Thompson’s current group as well as several special guests, including guitarist Thom Bresh, the son of Merle Travis, who played guitar on most of Thompson’s classic sides.
