He’s not crowding into George Strait’s territory, mind you, but Trini Triggs has also earned the right to be called “The Fireman.” Triggs won that title the hard way Thursday (April 6) when he rode to the rescue in a potentially disastrous kitchen fire. The Curb Records artist was at his guitar player’s home in Hermitage, Tenn., rehearsing for his April 7 debut on the Grand Ole Opry. At the end of the rehearsal, the two men stepped outside and noticed a neighbor’s house was on fire. Triggs rushed into the smoking kitchen, escorted the frightened mother and her children outside and went back in to try to contain the fire until his guitarist could get a water hose working. Triggs was twice driven out by the smoke, but by the time the professional firemen arrived, he had it all under control.
