John Anderson Out of Hospital After Heart Attack

Singer John Anderson was released Tuesday morning (Sept. 2) from a hospital in Charleston, W. Va., where he was being treated for a heart attack he suffered Saturday (Aug. 30). Surgeons implanted a stent in the affected artery and expect the singer to have a quick and full recovery. Booking agent Bobby Roberts says that Anderson will recuperate for about a week at home before returning to the road. Anderson was stricken prior to his scheduled appearance at Charleston’s annual Sternwheel Regatta. His illness also forced him to cancel a performance Sunday (Aug. 31) at the Kingsland Catfish Festival in Kingsland, Ga. His next scheduled show is Sept. 6 at the Circle J Farm in Mooresboro, N.C. 09/02/03
