Shania Twain Leads CCMA Nominations

Although reigning Country Music Association Entertainer of the Year Shania Twain was not nominated Tuesday for this year’s awards, she is up for six trophies at the upcoming Canadian Country Music Awards. “Rock This Country” is up for single, video and song of the year. Twain will compete for the fans’ choice award, as well as Female Artist of the Year and top-selling album. Family trio The Wilkinsons are nominated in the group/duo, single, album and fans’ choice categories. Other nominees include Faith Hill, Lonestar, Garth Brooks, Terri Clark, Paul Brandt, Lisa Brokop and newcomer Tara Lyn Hart, who received six nods. The Canadian awards will be handed out Sept. 11 at the Edmonton Skyreach Centre in Alberta, Canada.
