Jennings Tribute Underway in Texas

Cross Canadian Ragweed honors a country music icon this weekend during a two-day concert billed as Waylon Jennings: The Red River Tribute. Set for Friday and Saturday (Sept. 19-20) New Braunfels, Texas, the event takes its name from the river that divides the Texas and Oklahoma borders. Consequently, the concert performers share musical roots in both states. Jennings’ widow, Jessi Colter, and their son, Shooter Jennings, are among 30 acts scheduled to perform. Others appearing include Lee Ann Womack, Billy Joe Shaver, Cooder Graw, Django Walker, Gary P. Nunn and Ray Wylie Hubbard. The concert will be recorded for a live CD set for release in December. 09/19/03
