Jerry Reed to Produce Musical

Jerry Reed, a popular country star in the 1970s and early 1980s, is producing an original musical, which will be staged Nov. 7 in Franklin, Tenn. Cod Roaster was written by songwriter Bryan Kennedy and features three men singing by a campfire. Reed starred in the 1977 film Smokey and the Bandit and hit No. 1 with the singles "When You're Hot, You're Hot," "Lord, Mr. Ford" and "She Got the Goldmine (I Got the Shaft)." Kennedy co-wrote Garth Brooks' hits "The Beaches of Cheyenne" and "American Honky-Tonk Bar Association." 10/30/03
