Bluegrass Popularity Doubles Since 2000

Nearly 8 million adults have purchased bluegrass recordings in the last 12 months, a 104 percent jump since 2000, according to a new study by Simmons Market Research. The study also indicates that nearly two-thirds of bluegrass consumers are between the ages of 25 and 54 and that 84.6 percent of bluegrass consumers earn more than $30,000 a year. Bluegrass consumers also cited listening to music as their top leisure activity. 12/2/03
