Widow Doesn't Want Homicide Charge

The widow of a man killed in a car crash, which involved Loretta Lynn's son Ernest, says that Lynn shouldn't be charged with vehicular homicide. Larry Claxton died when a Jaguar driven by Ernest Lynn crashed in Humphreys County, Tenn., in October. Lynn was indicted Monday (Dec. 1) with vehicular homicide by intoxication and DUI. Wanda Claxton told a Nashville TV station, "I don't want this. If somebody wants to charge him with DUI, fine. To charge him with my husband's death is not right." If convicted, Lynn's sentence could be eight to 12 years; he was released on $10,000 bond. 12/3/03
