Cordle, Forbert, McMurtry to Offer New Albums

Three prominent names in the Americana genre are planning new releases in early 2003. Lonesome Skynyrd Time finds bluegrass star Larry Cordle & Lonesome Standard Time giving the Southern rock band a high, lonesome makeover. Set for Jan. 27 release, the album’s highlights include “Sweet Home Alabama,” “Freebird” and the original composition “Southern by the Grace of God.” … On March 23, Texas rocker James McMurtry delivers Live in Aught-Three, recorded in Salt Lake City, Nashville and Asheville, N.C. … Steve Forbert’s Just Like There’s Nothing to It arrives on April 28, following up his Grammy-nominated Any Old Time, his folk tribute to Jimmie Rodgers.
