Josh Turner’s debut album Long Black Train has been certified gold for shipments of 500,000 copies. MCA Nashville released the album on Oct. 14, 2003, although the title track has been on the singles chart for 34 weeks. It’s currently at No. 21 on the Billboard singles chart and No. 10 on the country albums chart. “It’s very satisfying how the community has taken to this record and I’m thankful that the music has meant something to the general public,” Turner says. “It’s a dream come true, and I feel that I’ve achieved one of my many goals. This is not the end of the road for me — it’s the beginning.” “Long Black Train” is actually Turner’s second single; “She’ll Go on You” was released in late 2002.
