Lonestar, McEntire Mine RIAA Metal

Lonestar and Reba McEntire are among the artists mining additional gold and platinum albums in January, the RIAA announced Tuesday (Feb. 3). Lonestar’s Greatest Hits achieved platinum status for shipments of more than 1 million copies. McEntire’s Room to Breathe was certified gold for shipments of 500,000 copies. As previously reported, upgraded plaques will be issued to Toby Keith’s Shock ’N Y’all (3 million) and Unleashed (4 million), Tim McGraw’s Greatest Hits (4 million), Alan Jackson’s Greatest Hits, Volume II, Jimmy Buffett’s Meet Me in Margaritaville (2 million) and Martina McBride’s Martina (1 million). A platinum award also went to Amazing Grace: A Country Salute to Gospel, a compilation featuring McBride, Emmylou Harris, the Charlie Daniels Band and others. Other previously-reported gold certifications include Trace Adkins’ Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 and Josh Turner’s debut, Long Black Train.
