O’Neal Signs With Capitol, Adkins Sees Gold

Singer-songwriter Jamie O’Neal has signed with Capitol Nashville. O’Neal’s first album for Capitol will be released in early 2005, but an initial single is expected this summer. She’s being produced by Keith Stegall, best known for his work with Alan Jackson. During her tenure at Mercury Records, O’Neal released two albums and scored No. 1 singles with “There Is No Arizona” and “When I Think About Angels.” … Also at Capitol Nashville, Trace Adkins’ sixth and latest album, Comin’ On Strong, has been certified gold by the RIAA for shipments of 500,000 copies. Two of Adkins’ previous albums — Greatest Hits Collection, Volume I and Chrome — have also attained gold certification within the past 12 months.
