The bluegrass band Mountain Heart released its fourth album, Force of Nature, on Tuesday (May 11). Mountain Heart won an International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) award in 1999 as its emerging artist of the year, and their album The Journey earned an IBMA award in 2002 for gospel album of the year. Force of Nature, produced by Ricky Skaggs, is the band's second project for Skaggs Family Records. … Other new independent releases this week include Maura O'Connell's Don't I Know, Steve Forbert's Just Like There's Nothin' to It and the Well Hungarians' Sorry 'Bout the Mess.
