George Canyon, who placed second on this year’s Nashville Star talent competition, has signed a record deal with Universal South in Nashville. His first album for the label is expected in the fall. Canyon has also signed with Bob Doyle & Associates for management and the Creative Artist Agency (CAA) for booking. Doyle helped guide Garth Brooks’ career. A native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canyon will also take part in the Nashville Star tour over the summer, along with winner Brad Cotter, Matt Lindahl and Lance Miller.
