Session Musician Kenny Buttrey Honored

Famed Nashville session drummer Kenny Buttrey will be honored during a golf tournament raising money for Giving in Faith Together (GIFT), a non-profit organization based in Nashville. The tournament takes place Aug. 2 at the Nashville Golf and Athletic Club. Buttrey, who is fighting cancer, is one of the most prolific session musicians during the ’60s and ’70s. His credits include recordings with Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt, Kris Kristofferson, J.J. Cale, Kenny Rogers, Gordon Lightfoot and many others.
