Stuart Gets Two-Day DUI Sentence

Marty Stuart will spend two days in jail in Sumner County, Tenn., after pleading guilty to DUI. A July 27 court date was initially set to respond to the charge, but Stuart’s attorney said the singer entered the guilty plea on Friday (July 2). Stuart’s sentence of 11 months and 29 days was suspended, except for the two days in jail. He was also fined $350. Stuart was arrested June 23 on the street in front of a McDonald’s restaurant in the Nashville suburb of Hendersonville, Tenn. Stuart’s July tour dates include performances in Switzerland, France, Norway and Sweden. Stuart was scheduled to begin serving his sentence Tuesday (July 6).
