Ray Price Plans New Album

Country Music Hall of Fame member Ray Price’s first album for his new record label will include cover versions of at least 11 country classics, including “Sunday Morning Coming Down,” “Waltz Across Texas” and “El Paso.” The project, My Old Friend, will also feature songs popularized by three of his former band members — Roger Miller (“King of the Road”), Johnny Paycheck (“Take This Job and Shove It”) and Willie Nelson (“Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain”). Price is launching the Austin-based label, Texas Records, with former Texas Lt. Gov. Ben Barnes, businessman Jim Sharp and former Academy of Country Music board member Rose Waters.
