Country radio stations in markets as large as Atlanta and as small as Champagne, Ill., are in the running for station of the year honors in the CMA’s 2004 broadcast awards. Dierks Bentley made the announcements Monday morning (Aug. 30) during a press conference at the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville.
The station of the year nominees are divided into four categories, according to market size.

Likewise, the broadcast personality of the year awards are also divided into four market categories.

With broadcast award winners ineligible to enter in consecutive years, CMA broadcast award winners from 2003 are not nominated this year. That includes the national broadcast personality of the year category, where American Country Countdown host Bob Kingsley won in 2001 and 2003. This year’s national broadcast personality nominees include After Midnite With Blair Garner, CMT Country Countdown USA With Lon Helton and The Crook and Chase Countdown hosted by Lorianne Crook and Charlie Chase.
All of this year’s broadcast winners will be recognized during the 38th annual CMA Awards set for Nov. 9 at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville.
